Progress is continuing on the boardwalk sections for stage two of the Charlie Uptin Walk to Flagstaff Hill stretch and the Doctors Walk upgrade.
Construction works are scheduled for completion in August 2020.
The upgrades are nearing completion but there is still not full access at some locations while work continues.
The Charlie Uptin Walk to Flagstaff Hill stage two upgrade includes a new boardwalk section leading to the flagstaff bridge and replacement of the footpath with a wider concrete path.
The first stage of the Charlie Uptin Walk to Flagstaff Hill upgrade opened in late 2019.
Key upgrades at the Doctors Walk from Oxley Beach to Windmill Hill Reserve include path widening and new handrails in sections, improved signs, a drinking fountain and new boardwalk section at the southern end of Oxley Beach.
Vehicles can again access the Nobbys Beach car park.
There will also be an upgrade to part of the Nobbys Beach memorial track with track formalisation and a new viewing platform.
Minor work is being finalised in other areas.
The Coastal Walk is a 9.2km scenic walking trail that weaves its way along the coastline from Westport Park, through the Port Macquarie CBD to Tacking Point Lighthouse.
Physiotherapy student Fran Dorczak likened the Coastal Walk upgrades to a facelift.
"It is only going to make people go out and enjoy it even more," she said.
Ms Dorczak said she loved the Coastal Walk.
"I think it is one of the best features in Port Macquarie," she said.
"I love the fact it pretty much runs along the whole of the coastline."
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has allocated $997,000 for the upgrades with the state government contributing $765,000.
Completed stretches of the Coastal Walk upgrade can be found at Westport Park, stage one of the Charlie Uptin to Flagstaff Hill section and Kenny Walk.
