The Bonny Hills Community Plan was developed through a partnership between Port Macquarie-Hastings Council and the community.
The council has endorsed the final plan.
Bonny Hills Progress Association vice-president Kathy Regan and president Roger Barlow spoke at the October council meeting about the community plan.
A large list of ideas flowed during the plan's development, and while not all are included in the plan, a community views document with all the statements and suggestions is an appendix.
"We felt that was a way of being transparent and showing the community we were taking everything on board," Ms Regan said.
The council is working collaboratively with communities to develop community plans.
Bonny Hills, initially identified as a community plan pilot project, was the first cab off the rank.
The resulting Bonny Hills Community Plan is the first community plan in a revised format to be endorsed.
The Bonny Hills Community Plan's vision is to conserve our surrounding natural environment and wildlife; maintain our village character; promote safe roads; ensure clean water; and sustain our community's quality of lifestyle by ensuring well-planned and environmentally sensitive development.
About 3000 people call Bonny Hills home.
Four actions in the community plan are part of the council's 2019-20 operational plan.
The council report highlights the shared responsibility and opportunity to develop projects within the plans either via the council's future operational plans or through community groups seeking funding or community groups completing projects on a volunteer basis.
The council noted the goals and actions identified for the Bonny Hills community as outlined in the action plan for consideration in future operational plans.
Community plans for another three communities are available for community input and will be presented to the council in November.
