The Lost Plot community garden took on a magical atmosphere under lights and the stars during The Lost Plate II on Saturday, October 19.
The community garden joined forces with Drury Woolnough and the Drury Lane Eatery team for the dinner.
Local and seasonal produce inspired the menu.
Hastings Secondary College Westport Campus hospitality students got real life hospitality experience with roles ranging from setting the tables to serving the food and washing the dishes.
The Lost Plot events coordinator Karen Mann said more people were aware of the garden as a result of the dinner.
She said everyone enjoyed a fantastic night of food and a shared sense of community, while the Hastings Secondary College Westport Campus students had a great time contributing to their community.
The community garden increased its membership too.
"We have had lots of positive feedback from those who came along," Mrs Mann said.
She said lots of community garden members and other community members donated time towards the event.
Bago Vineyards and Long Point Vineyard donated wine to the fundraiser.
Mrs Mann said the money raised at the dinner would go towards both everyday running costs, such as the leasing fee to council, water bills, insurance and seeds, and it would enable the volunteers to make improvements to the garden such as renovating and improving the compost bays.
The funds will also be used to improve signs in the garden so people can take a self-guided tour.
