The village is named after the famous World War I battle at Le Hamel.
The care of war veterans is a cornerstone of RSL LifeCare, the village operators.
Manager Cathy Snook praised the community for attending Monday’s event.
“I am extremely happy with the response to the village hosting this annual Remembrance Day service,” she said.
“The support we receive from the sub-branch, the Nashos, the Sing Australia choir, the local schools and the residents is just wonderful.
“Our links with the local schools is important on days like Remembrance Day because it gives the service some continuity and is also educational for the students who come along.”
Ms Snook said she was proud that RSL LifeCare’s culture was to serve returned service men and women.
“Our role is to try and support them as much as possible. We are a small village but a happy community,” she said.
One of the features of Monday’s service was the reading of the poem In Flanders Field by Le Hamel resident Ruth Henning. Sing Australia’s rendition of the John Lennon classic Imagine also provided a poignant moment.
Meanwhile Mr Laird said if anyone found a New Zealand police long service and good conduct medal at Sunday’s Remembrance Day service in Port Macquarie could they please contact him at the Port Macquarie sub-branch.
