The nominations were made official by the NSW Electoral Commission on November 4, one month out from when local residents go to the polls.
The ballot paper draw, which determines the order candidates are listed on the ballot paper, also took place on November 4.
In the running for mayor, in ballot paper order, are current mayor Peta Pinson, Steven Gates, Rachel Sheppard, current deputy mayor Lisa Intemann and Nik Lipovac.

Group A on the councillor ballot paper is headed by Lisa Intemann, Nik Lipovac heads up group B and Lauren Edwards from The Greens is the lead candidate in Group C.
Peta Pinson heads up Group D and Rachel Sheppard is the lead candidate in Group E.
Jon Bailey is the only ungrouped candidate.
All up, there are 25 candidates in the running for a place at the council table. Eight councillors will be elected.
Independent Jon Bailey is flying the flag for the Camden Haven region, while Steven Gates of Byabarra is in the running for the mayor's job only.
The Port Macquarie-Hastings council election contenders on the NSW Electoral Commission's confirmed list of candidates are:
- Group Ticket (Team Pinson): Peta Pinson (running for mayor), Adam Roberts, Sharon Griffiths, Danielle Maltman and Josh Slade.
- Group Ticket (Greens): Lauren Edwards, Stuart Watson, Drusi Megget and Les Mitchell.
- Group Ticket (Fighters For Our Region): Lisa Intemann (running for mayor), Kingsley Searle, Stewart Cooper, Narelle Milligan, Paul Bradford.
- Group Ticket (Hastings First): Nik James Lipovac (running for mayor), Kerry Fox, Linda Lenord, Michael Clarke and Justin Hardie.
- Group Ticket (Team Sheppard): Rachel Sheppard (running for mayor), Greg Freeman, Linda Elbourne, Ethan Francis.
- Jon Bailey, independent for Camden Haven
- Steven Gates, independent (running for mayor only)
Campaigning can now begin with iVote applications and voting, and pre-poll voting, opening on November 22.
Postal voting closes on November 29 and pre-poll voting on December 3.
Election day will be held on Saturday, December 4 between 8am and 6pm.
iVote applications close at 1pm on election day.
