The local health district will move its COVID-19 vaccination clinic from Port Macquarie Base Hospital to 35 Grant Street, with the new clinic expected to open on Tuesday, August 17.
The new site, which is larger than the existing clinic, is not a mass vaccination centre and appointments are essential.
Part of the Grant Street building's ground floor will be used as the COVID-19 vaccination clinic.
Mid North Coast Local Health District chief executive Stewart Dowrick said the present location was causing congestion issues at the hospital and they believed the Grant Street site was a better location.
"It gives us the scope to double our capacity and I think we all anticipate more and more people will get vaccinated and we are complementing the vaccination program in general practice," Mr Dowrick said.
"Across NSW, approximately 40 per cent of all vaccinations are being given by the public health vaccination program and about 60 per cent provided by primary care.
