Around 350 riders from all around the state competed in the fourth of a seven-round Fox Superflow event.
"I couldn't believe how many we had from Sydney especially with all the COVID stuff, but it was a great weekend," Fullbrook said.
"It was hero dirt on Saturday and Sunday was the opposite - it was a mudfest and there was not one person who came back that didn't have half the track on them."
Port Macquarie's Jake Devere won the overall event by 15 seconds which enabled him to get the monkey off his back.
"He's usually second or third, but we had no pros this year because they're all overseas so it was his time to shine," Fullbrook said.
"It was a bit of a surprise because he's normally top 10, even down in races in Canberra."
Most riders managed to steer clear of major injury except for one rider who went over the handlebars and fell two metres onto his head.
He had to be airlifted to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle, but is now on the road to recovery.
Fullbrook said it was a result of the change in race conditions which currently don't allow for a practice run.
"There's no practice these days because it's broken up into two days and the first run is your practice run," he said.
"One bloke came around the corner blind, shit himself, went over the handlebars and fell two metres on his head.
"He had to be airlifted from the football field at Lake Cathie, but he's recovering now."
Other strong local performers included James Gregory (over-50s) along with youngsters Ben Harris, Tom Spilsbery and Tom Jenkins (under-17s) and Jarrod Spilsbery (under-19s).
The female field also performed strongly with under-19 racer Connor Mielke continuing her path to the top of the results in a race time of 11:58.04 to claim the outright female title in both acoustic and e-Bike classifications.
In second was Christine Seeliger from Sydney (+16 sec) ahead of Amanda Chiu in third (12:39.7).
This weekend a four or six-hour cross country GP will be held at Jolly Nose on Saturday and Kempsey on Sunday.
