MID North Coast Police and other emergency services attended an incident in Queen St, South Kempsey, after a man in his vehicle was trapped in rising flood waters.

Rescuers arrived on scene at about 2.30pm to find a 66-year-old local man who took refuge on the roof of his vehicle.
Just under an hour later the man was rescued without incident and shortly after that was being checked over by NSW Ambulance crews.
Macleay Valley residents are reminded to not drive through flood water.

As of 4pm, roads closed throughout the area are:
- Collombatti Rd is closed.
- Old Aerodrome Rd is closed.
- Mines Rd is closed.
- Crescent Head Rd at Rudders Lagoon is closed due to flash flooding. Queen St, South Kempsey, is closed.
- Bellbrook Bridge is closed.
- Temagog Bridge is closed.
- Toorooka Bridge is closed.
- Dungay Creek, Moparrabah Road and Dowling's Falls causeways are closed. The bypass bridge on Toms Gully Rd, Lewis Creek, is closed.
- Bridges on Nulla Nulla Creek Rd are impacted by flooding and are closed. The Gladstone St rail underpass is closed.
- Armidale Regional Council advises that Armidale Rd is closed west of Blackbird Flat.
- There are several roads currently subject to flash flooding in the Kempsey LGA.
