Laurieton Carols will make a festive return to the outdoor setting of Longworth Park this year.
The Camden Haven Community Band's concert celebration will be in the park opposite the Plaza Theatre from 5pm on Sunday, December 13.
Rehearsals for the event were disrupted in March due to coronavirus guidelines, however they resumed at the School of Arts hall on October 26.
Camden Haven Community Band vice-president Vicki Syme said the Laurieton Carols will go ahead this year with COVID safe procedures and social distancing in place.
Those who wish to sing along with the Christmas songs and carols shouldbring their own mask.
"The band will be playing. I think a lot of people are happy to get out and celebrate something after what has happened this year," she said.
"It would be a good opportunity for people to get in the Christmas spirit and listen to those traditional songs, Australian songs and sing along to the carols.
"The band has 35 or so members and it's quite a social experience. We want to reach out to anyone who has played or sung in the past to get back involved with the Laurieton Carols."
Audience members can bring their own food and drinks.
If you can play an instrument, potential band members aged from late primary school to mature, are encouraged to attend the School of Arts hall during rehearsals from 6pm to 7.30pm on Mondays.
Lake Cathie-Bonny Hills Lions Club usually hosts the Carols by the Lake at the Lake Cathie foreshore, which runs during early December alongside the Laurieton Carols.
Carols by the Lake has been postponed for 2020.
There will be no street parade or fireworks in Port Macquarie. These have been replaced with a series of pop-up gratitude events.
Christmas Under the Stars, a popular festive event held annually at Westport Park by the Westport Club has also been put on ice and postponed this year.
The Westport Club will hold a ticketed lunch and dinner event on Christmas Day.
The Hastings Choristers are also unable to celebrate Christmas and share their music with the community for the first time in 30 years.
The group does have lots of exciting concerts planned for 2021, including a belated 30th birthday celebration.
