It comes after the state government announced funding in May, 2018 for planning and the purchase of a site for a new Port Macquarie Police Station.
The Hay Street police station, which has been renovated many times, has capacity issues.
Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams said $98.9 million has been committed over four years to the Multipurpose Police Station Program, which includes funding to acquire land for the new Port Macquarie Police Station.
"Members of the public should be reassured that NSW Police are currently in discussion surrounding a number of sites to ensure the best option is delivered for local police and community," she said.
Mrs Williams said our police officers are out there on the frontline, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, protecting our community.
"It's our responsibility to ensure they have the resources and support they need to get the job done - and that's exactly what this government is doing," she said.
"This government has committed to deliver new and upgraded stations across the state to ensure our police have the best facilities and resources to proactively prevent and disrupt crime."
Laurieton Police Station has reopened to the community after $1.5 million in upgrade works.
