A spokesperson from NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) Mid North Coast district said firefighters were called to an out of control blaze at Cowarra Access Road, Lake Innes at about 6am.
The fire is not posing a threat to properties and crews are working to bring it under control.
Meanwhile fire crews have worked late into the night to strengthen containment lines at a fire burning near the Crestwood estate. The fire remains at advice level.
The blaze is located near the Creek Trail, behind properties at Camelia Circuit.
The fire initially flared up on Friday, December 20 after it broke containment lines
The spokesperson said the southerly change predicted to hit late last evening was not as strong as expected, so crews will use more favourable conditions today (Sunday, December 22) to bolster containment lines.
Aircraft are water-bombing the area and crews are also working on the ground.
Firefighters are continuing to monitor the Lindfield Park fire, where the rehydration project continues.
People are advised to continue to monitor the situation and follow their Bush Fire Survival Plan.
