It will be a tale of two teams when Port Macquarie Spartans clash with Hastings River Pirates in the Hastings Baseball Association A-grade grand final on Sunday.
Spartans will appear in their first-ever A-grade grand final while appearing in the final match of the season is something Pirates have become accustomed to over the years.
Pirates president Dave Boyton said it was satisfying to maintain their impressive streak which now stands at six.
There is no doubt they will have the edge in experience.
"We're pretty lucky to have that experience in these big games," he said.
"We have a lot of guys that have been around a long time, so we're six seasons in and we haven't missed a grand final yet.
"We're glad to keep the ball rolling in that regard."
Depth in their batting lineup is where Pirates could benefit, although Spartans were consistent throughout the season and finished as minor premiers.
"We've got batting depth right through and some pitching depth as well," Boyton said.
"But it's the guys who know how to handle the big games who look after their own individual roles."
Spartans president Ryan Frost said their successful season was due to an influx of new players to the club.
"We've recruited well with new players and guys that have played before," he said.
Tama Nohotima, Joel Green and Chris Whitfield are three players expected to have strong games and Frost didn't feel grand final nerves would play a role.
"We're treating it like a normal game so there's no real pressure being our first grand final; we'll play hard, play our best and see what happens," he said.
The B-grade decider starts at 10.30am with the first pitch in the A-grade grand final at 1pm at Blackbutt Park.
