Victory in Saturday's Upper Mid North Coast Rugby Union major semi-final clash with Coffs Harbour will extend it seven for Hastings Valley Vikings.
After sailing through the regular season undefeated and rarely being challenged, the Vikings will start as favourites.
Despite being regulars in the semi-finals over the years, coach Andrew Kable admits you never become unexcited about finals football.
"It's my first year back for three years so I'm definitely excited," he said.
The challenge for the Vikings over the years has been to modify their style so it doesn't become predictable.
"Every coach puts their own touch on things and myself and Chris Johnson have done that this year and the team have entertained everyone at Oxley Oval," Kable said.
They can't, however, afford to be complacent against a Snappers side that have had success at the ground, including last year's grand final.
"It's definitely something we've talked about because teams rise to the occasion of semi-final football," Kable said.
"Nothing beats playing at home and our goal was to finish as minor premiers which we've done."
The key now was for the players to continue to enjoy another finals campaign.
"We want the players to enjoy what they're doing so it doesn't become mundane and boring," Kable said.
The Vikings will be near full-strength with Sam Browning the only player under an injury cloud.
On a big day for the club, their under-14s will start the day with a clash against Southern Cross University.
"They finished as minor premiers and will play against Southern Cross Uni who are last year's premiers," Kable said.
First grade kicks off at 3.15pm.
