The expo which was organised by Mid Coast Connect is in its 12th year.
It is targeted at students from Years 9 to 12, their teachers and parents; as well as being open to the public.
Executive Officer of Mid Coast Connect Jenny Fraser said every year the expo "gets a little bigger".
Ms Fraser said the aim is open students minds to what career opportunities are available to them.
"There is a lot of interactive displays which we have encouraged so that young people who are visiting stop and talk to the exhibitors," Ms Fraser said.
Year 10 subject selection is approaching and Ms Fraser said she wanted students to be informed when they make their choices.
My message to young people is to check it all out and don't feel pressured, nobody ever really ends up where they first started so you need to be flexible and keep your options open.
- Jenny Fraser
North Coast TAFE construction teacher John White said at his stall students practised marking and drilling timber.
"It gives them a taste of construction, interestingly some of the girls cut better than the boys," Mr White said.
Year 10 student Andrew Pelser from St Columba Anglican School said the stall had been "pretty fun".
"I am interested in surveying and engineering so it is a mix of those things," Andre said.
Sarah Christian from Hastings Secondary College said the expo had been "really interesting".
Her favourite stall was the childcare stall.
"We got to blow bubbles," she said.
Her friend Shaynae Murray enjoyed the Charles Sturt University paramedicine stall.
"I love biology, chemistry and physics so I hope one day it be a paramedic," Shaynae said.
