Wayne Hopwood, Kathy Curry and Barry Ryan from Busways have delivered veterans, their families and wreaths each year to and from Port Macquarie's ANZAC Day commemorations on April 25.

The service runs three shuttle buses each year for the ANZAC Day service for around 100 people, which was previously a ticketed system.

RSL honorary secretary Gary Spencer said RSL members appreciated the ongoing support each and every year.

"For drivers to provide the transport so freely and easily, it's just another example of the great community spirit in Port Macquarie," he said.

"ANZAC Day is the most important day on the Australian calendar, we try to put on the best service we can and to do that we need community support like this.

"On behalf of the members of the RSL we thank you, the members appreciate it."

Drivers Wayne Hopwood, Kathy Curry and Barry Ryan said they dedicated their time to help the RSL and members of the public.

"We enjoy helping the RSL and people are very appreciative," said Mr Hopwood.

"I love it and people do remember us from the previous years, it's something we look forward to," said Ms Curry.

Port Macquarie Depot Manager Francis Maurer said drivers had done the community proud for over ten years by volunteering their time.

"All of us here at the Port Macquarie depot are grateful and proud of their selfless contribution to our Veterans and their families," he said.

"They volunteer their time and skills to provide this essential service every year and we couldn't appreciate it more."

RSL honorary secretary Gary Spencer said memento gifts would also be given to the drivers in recognition of their efforts.

"For drivers to continually give up their free time, it's important to acknowledgement that," he said.

"Busways' involvement is vital to the smooth running of the services and is very much appreciated."
