Around 100 charitable golfers are expected to make their return for the 2014 founded sporting competition paying tribute to Marlene Farr, who passed away with ovarian cancer the same year.
Organiser Nancy Whiteley said the event was originally founded in 2014 by Ms Farr.
"The annual golf team event was begun in 2014 by one of our women golfers, Marlene Farr," she said.
"Who sadly died the same year with ovarian cancer.
"Her husband Jim and golfing friends decided to continue the yearly event with sponsorship, a perpetual trophy.
"And a raffle to raise money for much needed research into this insidious disease that kills one woman in Australia every ten hours and for which there is currently no early detection test."
Golfing teams of four compete for around $2000 in prizes using a best three of four scores system at Port Macquarie Golf Club on Wednesday, May 8.
Organiser June Williams said the competition would like to thank all its supporters.
"The sponsors this year have been wonderful and for that we are very grateful," she said.
"Good support from members and people in the area, this enables us to raise more money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation charity."
