The back man from Melbourne's Emmaus St. Leos Football Club starred in the Magpies' opening-round win over Sawtell, booting five goals in their 55-point victory.
He admitted it was a better than expected start to the season and they expected another tough game against Grafton this Saturday at Wayne Richards Park.
"(It) shouldn't be a bad game against Grafton, we'll have another good crack on the field," he said.
"We've had a good start with the round one win round against Sawtell... we were pretty stoked with the performance."
In the under-17 division, the Pies will face Grafton from 10am ahead of the AFL North Coast women's fixture with the first bounce set down for 11.50am.
"I always love playing at home, obviously we will be around to support the other games as well," Maguire said.
"We try to support them as much as possible."
