"The message of Easter is one of hope and love, but not the kind of love that has an expiration date," Coastside Pastor Sheree Minturn said.
"The Easter story is one filled with redemption, forgiveness and unconditional acceptance from a God who looks at our bruises, our bad choices and our broken history or situations and wipes that slate clean."
A God who takes our good days and our bad days and gives us a life of purpose, promise and hope, even on our most rubbish days.
- Sheree Minturn
Mark Minturn is the president of the Port Macquarie Ministers' Association.
He said churches all across Port Macquarie will be celebrating Easter in different ways.
"You will find all sorts of incredible services from traditional churches to contemporary churches," Mr Minturn said.
"Give it a try."
Mr Minturn urged the public to look beyond chocolate at Easter and consider the real meaning of the weekend.
"Look at the life changing part.
"We promise your life will never be the same again."
