Showers are expected throughout the Easter weekend from Friday, April 19 to Monday, April 22, with Sunday afternoon appearing as the best possible time for an Easter egg hunt.
"It looks like there is a chance of showers each day over the weekend," he said.
"The wettest days are expected to be Friday and Saturday, and there is potential for the odd thunderstorm in those showers.
"Sunday and Monday will be clearer with a chance of light showers (and Sunday afternoon likely the sunniest period all weekend).
"Those mornings are likely to be cloudy and damp, Easter egg hunts might be a little bit soggy."
Mr Dutschke said the weekend would likely see persistent onshore winds in combination with a weak low pressure trough, which is expected to be more pronounced in the first half of the weekend.
"It won't be particularly windy and is expected to be reasonably comfortable with winds under 20kmph," he said.
Friday and Saturday are set to start the morning around 15 degrees, warming to 25 or 26 - while Sunday and Monday will heat up from 14 to 26.
