Part of the celebration for this year's Seniors Week event is the third annual Mid North Coast Creative Ageing Festival.
It is currently underway and ends on Sunday, February 24.
The festival is an innovative annual event that acknowledges the valuable role that seniors play in the community and highlights the importance of engaging in the arts and creative activities to foster good health and well being as people age.
There are opportunities for older people to participate in the arts through exhibitions, performances, dance, workshops, discussion groups, networking and sharing of experiences and information.
The full festival program can be found online at Arts Mid North Coast’s website.
Arts Mid North Coast is also using the festival to launch its 15th cultural trail which will be of value to many older residents and visitors.
The Inclusive arts trail revisits a number of experiences of the Mid-North Coast that are already included in cultural trails but highlights those services that distinguish them as inclusive.
It focuses on services that provide for the ageing population, people who use wheelchairs, children, people with temporary mobility limitations, people with prams, and people with hearing or vision impairments.
Here is a snapshot of some of the remaining events and activities on the festival's program.
