Brett Dutschke from Weatherzone said temperatures this week will be above average for this time of year.
“Today will be totally sunny and warm with a top of 31 degrees expected in Port Macquarie,” Mr Dutschke said.
“Unfortunately it will also be quite humid and will feel a few degrees warmer than temperatures suggest.
“This will be similar on Tuesday with a high of 32 degrees expected. Again it will be very humid but a fresh afternoon sea breeze will cool things down in the evening.”
Mr Dutschke said Wednesday will be the first day rain may occur this week and will be more likely as the week continues.
“There might be a light shower on Wednesday but rain is more likely on Thursday and Friday as the southerly winds pick up,” he said.
“On Thursday showers are much more likely with 5-10mm of rain is likely with a possible storm in the late afternoon or evening.
“There is a chance for up to 20mm of rain on Thursday but that is probably more likely towards Kempsey.
“None of this weather is unheard of for this time of year but with the humidity it will feel hotter than forecast.”
