CAMDEN Haven High School have been eliminated from the Alan Davidson Shield following a seven-wicket defeat at the hands of Maclean High School at Laurieton.

In their North Coast final, the home side started well with the bat before a constant flow of wickets saw them dismissed for 83.
Maclean then cruised to victory in the 21st over.
Camden Haven coach Shane Williams was disappointed at his teams application with the bat after they started well.
“We didn’t bat to our potential and a couple of guys didn’t respect their wicket,” he said.
“One guy was run out at the non-striker’s end after the ball flicked the bowler’s hand on the way past.”
The fall of Liam Adelt’s wicket sparked a top-order collapse that saw Camden Haven slump from 1-37 to 5-52.
“Connor Cook absolutely smoked one to gully who took an absolute screamer; one metre either side of him and it would have been a boundary,” Williams lamented.
“Our middle order did well and Rhyan Hudson (14) hung around and defended as well as he could.”
A lack of time out in the middle in their previous four matches would come back to haunt the Camden Haven side.
“Our final four had not faced a ball all tournament,” Williams said.
After losing two early wickets, Maclean top-order batsman Coby Tabor (44 not out) led the revival along with Sean MacFarlane (21).
The pair put on a 50-run third-wicket partnership.
“We took an early couple of wickets and they were 2-22,” the coach said.
“One of their batsmen was in a different class; he was coming down the wicket to Connor and hitting over the top.”
A different-look Camden Haven team will start their next Alan Davidson Shield campaign at the start of term four.
“We’ll lose three of our top six batters including Liam and Dan Adelt, so it’s going to have a different feel,” Williams said.
“It’s unfortunate to end the way we did this year; it was our best chance.”
