Harold Le Jeune and Gordon Rossiter have enjoyed a long association but this will be their first combined effort.
An informal opening is on Sunday between 11am and 3pm at Long Point Vineyard and Gallery, Lake Cathie.
There will be about 50 pieces of art on display.
Mr Rossiter is a high profile oil painting artist and judge who now lives at Crescent Head while Mr Le Jeune works in water colours and resides in Port Macquarie.
They have called the exhibition Check The Oil And Water.
The two artists have known each other for many years with Mr Rossiter judging many shows and exhibition involving Mr Le Jeune's works.
Mr Le Jeune is a founding member of The Hastings Art Trail and his passionate about watercolour painting.
He says constant improvement can be achieved through regular attendance at classes and courses while having a mentor is also important.
Mr Le Jeune studied art at the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney and moved to Port Macquarie in 1987. He found work immediately – his ‘day job’ – within the local motor vehicle sales industry.
He completed a diploma art course with the then-Hastings District School of Art.
My watercolour paintings are generally realistic in faithfully capturing the light, colours and mood of the chosen subject, he says.
The use of high quality art materials and professional framing ensures long life and enjoying of his works, he says.
Mr Le Jeune says he is greatly inspired by the character and style of old Australian farm buildings, rural landscape and river and beach scenes and subjects from our travels in Italy, particularly Tuscany and Venice.
Check The Oil And Water is at Long Point Vineyard and Gallery and is open through December and January.
