The grants were presented to community groups at a special ceremony at Port Macquarie-Hastings Council on Tuesday, November 27.
Mayor Peta Pinson awarded the grants saying it was important for council to be giving back to the community it serves.
“One of the best things about being mayor is being involved in many initiatives that give back to our community,” Cr Pinson said.
“This week the recipients we’re announced for round 1 of council’s Community Grants and Event Sponsorship Programs this financial year.
“The grants will help to fund community projects like the purchase of a new generator for the Kendall Riding for the Disabled Club, equipment upgrades for the Wauchope Little Athletics Club and funding to help with marketing activities promoting the Regional Dementia Conference in Port Macquarie.
“Congratulations to all the community groups who will receive funding, it’s great to see so many community organisations receive much needed support that will further help them to deliver more exciting projects that benefit our entire community.”
