As it turned out, the hosts tactic of fielding twice as many competitors as Port paid dividends as they won the overall point score.
Trinity Lismore finished in second ahead of Port in third.
Nathan Smith took out the Tim Mullen award as the fastest 13-year-old over 100 metres.
Port Macquarie’s open mixed medley relay team – consisting of Tom Berryman, Nathan Smith, Phoebe Bentley and Mathilda King – took out the Rex Rex Clark memorial trophy.
Some other notable results from the weekend included Tom Berryman’s win in the 50-metre backstroke while Bianca Jamison finished second in the 17 girls 100-metre freestyle.
It was her comeback from a knee injury.
In the relay event, Port Macquarie’s 13/14 boys finished third in the 50-metre Individual Medley.
But it isn’t always about winning, it's about friendship, good times, supporting one another and working as a team.
The Hastings claimed a handful of age champions with Nathan Smith (13 year boys), Phoebe Bentley (15 year girls), Bailey Whitton (12 year boys) and Morgan Jean (multiclass).
