The community engagement initiative is a chance for students to have a bit of fun by taking ownership of a Christmas tree at Panthers with club members voting on the best dressed tree.
Four schools have taken up the challenge to dress the best Christmas tree and the trees will take a prime sport at the front of Panthers for the next few weeks.
The competition will start once all the trees are decorated and people have until December 9 to cast their votes.
Jo Turnbull from Panther Port Macquarie said the competition was a bit of fun for the schools in the lead up to Chirstmas.
“We are a very community focused club and thought a tree decorating competition was a great way to get into the Christmas Spirit,” Ms Turnbull said.
“We also wanted to do something for the students and we thought this was a great way they can have some fun and raise some money for their school.
“The tree which our members most love will take home $4000, second place will receive $3000 and third place will get $2000.
“This is the first time we have done something quite like this but hopefully it goes well and we can do it again.”
The trees will be on display until December 28.
