On November 4, the local car clubs are joining together to host the Mid North Coast Muscle Car Show at Westport Park in Port Macquarie.
The Mid North Coast Ford Owners Club, Hastings Old Holden Club and the Mid North Coast Chapter of the Mustang Owners Club (NSW) are coming together to host the event which is being hailed as a great community event.
Mick Brownlow, secretary of the Hastings Old Holden Club and committee member for the event said final preparations were underway.
“This is the first time we have all come together for an event like this and we have really tried to incorporate so many different cars that there really will be something for everyone,” Mr Brownlow said.
“The last time we did anything similar was the End of an Era show and shine in November 2016 and it was amazing with over 400 cars on display.
“This time around we are including mustangs and muscle cars so we are anticipating even bigger numbers of cars which will be fantastic.”
Entry to spectators for the event is free while entrants will pay $10 to show of their cars.
The event is also a major fundraiser for the Hastings Support Group Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service and Mr Brownlow said people will be coming from all over NSW for the event.
"The event is expected to attract car enthusiasts from across New South Wales, including Tamworth, Inverell, Coffs Harbour, Newcastle/Hunter Valley, Gosford and potentially the NSW south coast,” he said.
“Many car clubs from across NSW are expected to attend and the beauty of this event is it is open to all Australian and US vehicles – not only muscle cars.
“Many of the vehicles over 30 years will be registered on historic plates, many vehicles are daily drives and there are, of course, those vehicles which only come out on special Show N Shine days such as this event.”
Trophies for the best cars will be presented by category and manufacturer and there will be raffles, trade stands, pin-up girls and spectators can vote for the People’s Choice award.
Cars will be arriving at Westport Park from 7am on the day and the public can get up close to the cars from 9am.
