Meteorologist with weatherzone Graeme Brittain says showers are likely to continue to fall through to Wednesday.
"The first two or three days of this week will be characterised by onshore winds," Mr Brittain said.
"This pattern will be directing showers across the Port Macquarie-Hastings.
"The heaviest falls of rain will be on Monday and Tuesday and in the range of 10 to 20 millimetres.
"Wednesday will still see showers falling but they will be easing off with just 1 to 5mm likely."
The meteorologist said the unsettled weather will see heavier showers more likely to the north of the region, around the Northern Rivers area.
Thursday will see a similar distribution of rainfall with 1 to 5mm again possible.
A change will see the winds turn more north westerly with winds tending more offshore.
"A low pressure trough will start to move in from the west on Friday and Saturday," Mr Brittain said.

"This will produce some further showers and it looks like more thunderstorm activity is possible, at this stage.
"You will more likely see those showers isolated with pockets of rain falling.
"By Sunday that system will clear into the Tasman Sea and a high pressure system will build. We should then see more drier conditions generally."
Out to sea, Monday will see the highest waves of around 2 to 2.5 metres and generally easing through the week.
Monday's maximum temperature is likely to be 17 degrees with Tuesday and Wednesday two degrees warmer again.
The air is likely to be a bit warmer on Thursday with a maximum temperature of 20 degrees through to about Sunday.
"Minimum temperatures will be generally between 7 and 8 degrees throughout the week which is about two degrees below the average minimum temperature for this time of the year," he added.
