Now in its third year, The NSW Regional Events Conference is an industry-specific event tailored for specialists in the tourism and events sector.

The two-day program provides a unique opportunity for regionally focused professional development and enables event professionals, stakeholders and students to hear from targeted and experienced presenters on issues and topics directly affecting the regional events industry.

Event organiser, Belinda King of King Events, says the announcement of Leigh Carmichael coming on board is a major coup for the conference and communicates the significance of the event across the industry.

“Leigh is one of Australia's most influential creative forces, and his work with Mona helped increase Tasmania’s tourism to record levels,” she said.

The packed program also includes sessions with speakers including Craig Swift-McNair general manager of Port Macquarie-Hastings Council who has played an integral role in the ongoing transformation of the organisation.

Vicky Lowry, general manager Deni Ute Muster, will also take to the stage to present the innovative strategies behind one of Australia’s most nationally recognised events.

Discussion of hot-button issues facing the industry will also feature on the agenda as experts tackle subjects relevant to event organisers and destinations.

Representatives from Parkes Shire Council, Flashcamp, and Airbnb will talk on how to overcome accommodation shortages in regional NSW and delegates will hear from Destination NSW spokesperson, Helen Parker on how to target and attract events to regions.
