This year’s New Year’s Eve celebrations on Port Macquarie’s Town Green are set to be huge showcasing great local music and entertainment.
Event organiser Natalie Bennett said the show kicked off with a performance by the Hastings Pipe Band at 6pm and added for people to keep their eyes on the stage for talented youngster James Camarsh and his acoustic magic at half time.
Ms Bennett said the concert would be a “family fun event” and for everyone to bring along a blanket and find a spot where they can enjoy the show.
There will also be performances by lovable larrikins Moonliters and Magazine.
“We are expecting another huge crowd again this year.
“There will be a number of food stalls from local restaurants where spectators can grab a bite to eat while sitting on the beautiful Hastings River,” Ms Bennett said.
Ms Bennett said the New Years celebrations would be heard from the Westport Park where spectators would be treated to a spectacular sky show from 9.30pm.
“There will be a break in the entertainment and we will divert to the Westport Park where the pyrotechnics display will welcome everyone to the New Year.”
The StarFM Sky show will feature a half-hour animated ground show followed by a fireworks spectacular, set to a specifically designed musical package featuring some of today’s best music.
Crowds are reminded to be there early to secure the best viewing positions.
The fireworks display is sponsored by Hastings Valley Dairy Fresh and supported by the Port Macquarie News, Hastings Happenings and the Hastings Gazette.
