Wauchope Lasiandra Festival: Wauchope, March 1 - March 23
Wauchope marks its 40th anniversary of the Lasiandra Festival. Inspired by the Lasiandra flower and the colour purple the town is beautified with shops decorating their windows. Kicking of on Friday March 1, there will be a range of events including art exhibitions, markets, pickleball competitions up until Saturday 23. Run Fest Port Macquarie: Port Macquarie, March 2 - March 3

Drag Racing: Taree Airport, March 2
Taree Airport is set to roar from more than just the sound of aircraft when it hosts the next Midcoast Drag Racing Association race meet on Saturday, March 2. About 60 vehicles will be lighting up the runway in a series of handicapped runs set to challenge drivers and thrill spectators. Proceedings start at 10am with qualifying, before culminating with the finals at about 3:30pm.
International Women's Day Breakfast: Westport Club, March 8
Hastings Business Women Network are hosting a Women's Day Breakfast with Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams at Jimmy's Lounge, Westport Club. Starting at 6.30am on March 8, enjoy a delicious canape style breakfast while listening to keynote speaker Joe Powell expand on her time as a Matilda. Hannam Vale Autumn Market: Hannam Vale, March 10
Enjoy a scenic country drive for a fun family day at Hannam Vale Recreation Reserve browsing more than 60 market stalls selling quality goods including locally grown fresh produce, pork, chicken and beef, home decor, gifts, garden items, art, timber carvings, jewellery, clothing and much more. Classic cars will be on show and live entertainment with Ellis 'Leroy' Gerrard singing "a bit of country and a bit of rock and roll". Face painting for the kid. Enjoy a cuppa and tasty treats from the Bush Cafe and the barbecue will be cooking up a storm with bacon and egg rolls and sausage sandwiches.
Road Safety Awareness Talk: Laurieton, March 16
Hannah's Blue Butterflies is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to raising awareness in road safety with a particular focus on young drivers. They will be joining us at Simplicity Funerals, Laurieton to share their knowledge and support through their personal story that led them to begin talks on this crucial topic. Get it Girl Networking Event: Port Macquarie, March 27
Our Women in Business event is for businesses to connect, encourage and support our local businesses to build relationships and keep our business local. Get dressed up and enjoy a few hours of resetting for the week. It will be held on March 27 at The Local at Flynns Beach. Set up for stall holders is 10am and general admission is from 11.45am with a finish time of 2pm. A kid friendly event. There are strictly only 160 tickets available.
Oyster Festival: North Shore, March 30
The first North Shore Oyster Festival will be held on Saturday, March 30 at Kangaroo Park. It will be a chance to meet Hastings oyster farmers and try the freshest oysters. There will be food, wine and beer as well as free activities for the kids. Live music will keep the crowd entertained and there will also be an oyster shucking competition. A free shuttle bus will also pick up pedestrians heading over on the ferry. The festival will be held from 12 - 4pm.
Ride the Sound Wave: Port Macquarie, April 6
The Make A Difference Charity (MAD) have announced that Xavier Rudd, The Dreggs, Emily Wurramara, Mama Kin Spender and Round Mountain Girls will all hit the picturesque beachside stage next year for the 2024 Ride the Sound Wave. The MAD team will bring another powerhouse line-up to Port Macquarie for the fourth iteration of Ride the Sound Wave on April 6, 2024. The event raises much needed funds for MAD, a not-for-profit volunteer run charity, who support a growing number of families and individuals in need across the Hastings region having served meals to over 5000 adults and 1000 children in 2023.

State Forests, Mid North Coast
