Make a Difference Port Macquarie are extending a helping hand to the Camden Haven by trialing a fortnightly free community breakfast.
The not-for-profit charity organisation already operates a mobile food van based in Port Macquarie and delivers supplies to Wauchope and Laurieton.
The group are expected to begin their trial fortnightly from Sunday, December 5 at the undercover parking in Club North Haven.
MAD volunteer coordinator Karen Faichney said they have previously provided flood relief at Brigadoon Holiday Park in North Haven by supplying fridges, washers, white goods, cakes and coffee.
"Starting on a fortnightly basis from 8.30am to 10.30am we will be providing bacon and egg rolls to anyone who is doing it tough. People can come down to have a coffee and a chat," she said.
"We are just hoping to help people out because we have been running our food van in Port Macquarie since 2019 and we also raised the funding to bring Orange Sky laundry to the Hastings in 2016.
"We started feeding the disadvantaged in Port Macquarie on a weekly basis and we're also looking where the greatest need is in the community.
"We've realised there are a lot of people doing it tough in the Camden Haven community and after the flood relief we recognised the need here."
Mrs Faichney said the group are in discussions with other Camden Haven charity group to support the community.
"We hope to give people an outlet to talk to others because conversation helps people not feel alone in the world.
"People can have some food and coffee if they need one, just to help brighten their day."
Club secretary manager Peter Negus said the club had jumped at the chance to help start up the community breakfast.
"Club management, the board and staff are all on board for this and we are happy to help the community. We are keen to make it work," he said.
"I think it will be a weekly meeting place further down the track and it's a win for the whole community."
