The implementation of the plan helps create a more inclusive and disability-friendly community.
Other highlights include the completion of walkways on Town Green west, connecting Town Green east to the recently completed Fishermen's Wharf upgrades, an access audit at Port Macquarie Airport and accessible toilet upgrades at Pilot Beach and Blackbutt Park.
The Port Macquarie-Hastings Council-adopted Disability Inclusion Action Plan started in July 2017.
The plan sets out actions to help make life better for people with a disability, their families and carers.
An annual progress report on the plan to the November council meeting said 5797 residents, or 7.4 per cent of the population within the local government area, identified as having a disability.
The NSW average is 5.4 per cent.
The Port Macquarie electoral district has the third highest prevalence of dementia per capita in NSW.
Progress in implementing the plan is reported annually to the council, and then in the fourth, and final year, the implementation of the plan is also reported to NSW Parliament.
The 2020-2021 progress report is the final annual report to the council.
