Seniors experiencing technology-related challenges with the Service NSW app, QR codes and digital vaccination certificates on their mobile phones are encouraged to go along to a tech savvy session at Port Macquarie Library on Saturday [October 30] .
Young people will be there to help thanks to the certified social enterprise, Youngster.Co.
Seniors should bring along their mobile phones, identification documentation and know their passwords.
The session will run from 10am to 2pm at Port Macquarie Library in Grant Street.
Youngster.Co is staging sessions across the Mid-North Coast including Urunga, Nambucca Heads, Bellingen and Macksville.
Bookings at participating venues can be made on the Youngster.Co website.
The co-founder of Youngster.Co, Tony Rothacker, said the sessions would connect the generations with benefits for both the seniors and youth.
He said the seniors would get help with their tech challenges and the young people would benefit from interacting with the seniors and learning essential life skills.
Youngster.Co hopes to have up to six youngsters on hand at Port Macquarie Library to help at least 50 seniors during the four-hour session on Saturday.
"We want to show the community when you connect generations, magic happens," Mr Rothacker said.
Seniors can register their attendance online for Saturday's session or call Port Macquarie Library on 6581 8755.
The young people will provide one-on-one advice for as little or as long as needed.
Saturday's tech savvy session for seniors is the first of two sessions in the Hastings to help the area's older generation.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has partnered with Youngster.Co to hold the interactive tech savvy sessions in the Hastings.
Youngster.Co provides job opportunities for young people and empowers seniors to use technology better.
