The extension has the potential to accommodate three new businesses, with a state-of-the-art gym and pet care store eyed for the space.
Lewis Land Group's acting investment manager Tania Rucioch said Sovereign Place Town Centre will continue to expand over the next few years.
"The proposed facility is a 1000 square metre extension of the Sovereign Place Town Centre which will grow in stages from the current 5200 square metre to 25,000 square metre over the next five to seven years," she said.
"If successful, the site would be constructed near the existing southern car park, facing John Oxley Drive.
"We feel the growing Sovereign Hills and broader community would benefit from a state-of-the-art gym and pet care in this location. The range of retailers, services and business are intended to be complimentary, to provide customers with choice, but also allow businesses to benefit from each other."
Currently the development application for the expansion has been lodged with council and pending approval.
"If successful, the site presents an exciting opportunity for more local businesses to join a vibrant town centre in Port Macquarie's western growth corridor in the second half of 2022," Ms Rucioch said.
There are currently 12 stores that call Sovereign Place Town Centre home, with the opportunity for more to lease space in stage one which is now open.
"The growth of Sovereign Hills is part of the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Regional Plan to relieve congestion from the CBD and push development to the west," Ms Rucioch said.
"More than 850 blocks of land have now been sold at Sovereign Hills which has capacity for 2400 residential lots. More than 1500 people already call Sovereign Hills home and we anticipate this number will grow to 7500 in the next 10 years."
