The quilt show, called Patchwork Treasures, was planned to go ahead in September 2021 under a new format with quilts on display in Wauchope shopfronts and six other venues with paid entry.

But the COVID pandemic but a stop to the 2021 quilt show.

Wauchope Patchwork Quilters pushed back the event to September 2022 with the same format.

Quilt show coordinator Clare Walker said they would postpone the drawing of a charity raffle with the proceeds going to homeless youth.

A sales table featuring members' handmade creations will now go ahead on November 19 at Wauchope IGA.

A Port Macquarie-Hastings Council grant allowed the group to have quilt stands made by the Wauchope Men's Shed and grant funding also went towards promotional material for the quilt show.

That will now be used to support the 2022 event.

The members will continue to create quilts and look ahead to quilt show.

Mrs Walker said the 2022 quilt show would bring people to Wauchope.

She said the event would attract other quilters and hopefully grey nomads as well.

An influx of visitors is expected to create demand for accommodation and inject money into other businesses.

"We think everyone in the town will benefit," Mrs Walker said.

Wauchope Patchwork Quilters, which has 60-plus members, has a history spanning more than 20 years.

Members work on personal quilting projects and also create quilts for charity.

They make crib quilts for country hospitals and quilts for a veterans' group, for example.
