Operation Stay at Home launched on Monday, August 16, and was a direct response to the NSW Public Health Order.

Detective Chief Inspector Darren Jameson said there are people in the community continuing to disregard lockdown orders.

"There are still pockets of people in the community who are doing the wrong thing," he said.

231 PINs have now been issued across the Mid North Coast Police District.

"There have also been 13 court attendance notices issued and 14 young people have been dealt with under the Young Offenders Act," Insp Jameson said.

"The main issue we are seeing is people simply not complying with the stay at home orders and leaving their homes when they don't have a valid reason to do so."

Police have also issued PINs to people not wearing face coverings when out in public.

"There were also seven PINs issued on August 31 at a number of unlawful outdoor gatherings," Insp Jameson said.

"Over the weekend officers also issued 16 infringement notices on Saturday. So there are still a number of people out doing the wrong thing."

Insp Jameson encourages locals to follow the stay at home order to protect themselves and the community.

"There are people in the community doing the right thing and I encourage everyone to follow the stay at home orders. This is about public health and until you've seen the devastation of what the Delta strain is like, you don't understand how bad it can be," he said.

"Protecting yourself and your loved ones at home is important."
