They won't get a chance to hold their final Auskick session for the year, but Port Macquarie AusKick coordinator Dave Gill said their 2021 season had still been a success.

Their 2020 season was severely Covid-affected and while Covid will put an end to the season 12 months later, Gill was happy with the numbers.
"It's a program run by NSW/ACT AFL and is a program that introduces kids and allows them to develop basic skills of AFL in primary school years of five years old to 10 years old," he said.
"The whole idea is to get them learning those skills so they'll join local clubs like Port Macquarie Magpies.
"When they go through the program they will then be prepared to play in the under-11s. We do one-hour sessions each week and we have had some obstacles this year."
Mr Gill said they hoped to see Kempsey return after they lost their team last year due to a lack of numbers.
"Kempsey were a formidable club along with Taree, but they were able to get a small group of 10 going," he said.
"I've got a personal goal of getting Kempsey up and running again next year."
They were also focused on strengthening female participation because that was where they lacked some numbers.
"We have had an all-girls game this year and one of the ladies from Port Macquarie's team came and ran that," Mr Gill said.
"The whole idea was to have a group of girls go through the ranks with the goal of having an under-11 girls team in line with the general approach of boosting numbers overall."
