I like many ratepayers of the Port Macquarie-Hastings Council area, were astounded that the council without ratepayers' knowledge, had stopped fluoridating our water supply eighteen months ago.

This will now lead to children particularly having more dental problems in a few years with tooth decay, etc, than would have been the case were the town water fluoridated.
To say that this decision was available on council's website doesn't cut it, as even the local member was unaware. It was only when the NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard mentioned it that it became known.
For council to have taken this appalling decision without proper consultation with the ratepayers, then in my opinion, they all deserve to be "retired" at the forthcoming election for holding the citizens of this region in such contempt.
