Police have reported an increase in stolen motor vehicles, theft from motor vehicles and theft from homes in the Crestwood, Emerald Downs and Lighthouse areas of Port Macquarie.
Access has been gained after thieves have broken into homes and stolen car keys and garage door remote controls.
Garage doors and vehicles have been left unlocked in several of the incidents.
Also avoid leaving valuables in motor vehicles including loose change in the console.
Hiding your car keys in your house is also a good crime prevention initiative.
Police have made arrests and their investigations are ongoing in relation to these incidents.
