Wauchope Blues league tag coach Aaron Ison ultimately wore Anna Lewis down for a return to the club as she prepares to celebrate game 100 on Sunday.
Lewis was with the Blues as part of the inaugural Group 3 ladies league tag competition in 2009 before she became disinterested in the sport and had a few years off.
The focus switched to touch football, then Ison became league tag coach at the Blues for 2021 and he started compiling his roster.
So why did the 28-year-old don the blue and red again?
"Pesty coaches," Lewis said.
"I've been coached by Buzz in all my years playing touch and now league tag. I've had him for a fair few years and we're really good friends out of footy so that made it easier to go and help him out."
Lewis said following in father Allen's footsteps was also a contributing factor in her return.
"I look at my dad and he played more than 200 games for Wauchope so maybe I'm following in his footsteps which I hate to say," she said.
"I'm pretty proud; it's a great achievement for a girl to get to 100 games for footy."
The Blues continued their perfect start to the season with a 52-0 hammering of Old Bar last weekend.
But she said there is no added pressure to ensure she celebrates in the same style as teammate Tori Marr-Harris who played her 100th game last weekend.
"I don't think there is; we'll go out there and do what we do. It's just another game and we'll celebrate later," she said.
Wauchope host second-placed Port Macquarie Sharks from 11.30am on Sunday at Lank Bain Sporting Complex.
