School students from St Joseph's Primary School Laurieton, Kendall Public School and the entire cohort from Telegraph Point Public School hit the fields at Woods Street on June 23.
They enjoyed a day out playing rugby league as part of a flood relief clinic hosted by Macquarie Sports.
Former New South Wales State of Origin forward Steve Menzies played some games with the students with more than 240 in total running around.
The schools were some of the hardest hit during the peak of the March flood emergency with around 40 students from Kendall forced to sleep in the library after roads were cut off.
Their parents were unable to reach them with teachers forced to visit the canteen that night to come up with food.
Games including tag, pass-the-ball and tackling drills were part of the day.
