Gordon Rutty will be taking this message to the east coast of New South Wales from June 18 when he sets off on a 14 day trek from Coolangatta to Sydney.
Transplant Australia is the national charity committed to increasing the organ donor rate in Australia and supporting transplant recipients.
The 'Walk to End the Wait' will head south and pass through Macksville on June 23 and then Kempsey before arriving in Port Macquarie on June 24.
Prompted by the loss of two close friends, Gordon became an altruistic kidney donor 10 years ago in honour of these friends and to help make a difference in someone else's life.
In his walk through country and coastal towns, Gordon will be talking to the community about the need for Australians to donate their organs, have the conversation with their families and register on the Australian organ donor registry.
Currently, in Australia, as two people die every week waiting. Gordon is passionate to see the waiting end.
