If so, then participating in a free mural workshop could be just the ticket.
Established artist Mike Shankster will lead the multi-day workshop in July.
Mr Shankster's creative path started when he enrolled in a graphic arts and pre-press apprenticeship before progressing his skills in applied arts, experience as an art director and pursuing freelance design.
Commercial advertising and branding, painting, digital illustration and commissioned public murals have been his focus for the past decade.
Workshop participants will learn new skills, then have the opportunity to put them into action and collaborate on a mural site in Port Macquarie.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's group manager economic and cultural development Liesa Davies said the workshop would upskill 10 local artists and create a strong, diverse network of locally-based visual artists who could apply for future public art commissions in our region.
Participants will learn how to answer a design brief, how to work with a commissioning body, how to upscale a design, select materials and prepare and safely manage a site.
The topics covered will allow participants to apply their own creative style and approach to works in a public setting.
"This will give them the experience and confidence to pursue public art commissions locally and further afield," Ms Davies said.
Local artists and designers are encouraged to express an interest in participating in the workshop via Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's website.
Expressions of interest close on Friday [June 11].
