The Regional Seniors Travel Card is injecting money into the economy with the benefit flowing to fuel stations, taxi drivers and more

It is fantastic to see the keen response to the second year of the $250 pre-paid Visa card, which benefited more than 337,500 seniors and their communities in 2020.

The Regional Seniors Travel Card was a commitment we made before the 2019 NSW election, and I'm proud to say it's one we have delivered for the people of regional NSW.

Already in year two, 18,366 applications have been received from seniors in the Port Macquarie-Hastings local government area.

This card is another way we are injecting money into the economy with the benefit flowing for fuel stations, taxi drivers and more.

Eligible seniors have until November 30, 2021 to apply. Seniors must be an age pensioner with a valid Pensioner Concession Card or hold a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card issued by either the Department of Human Services or Department of Veterans' Affairs.

Applications can be made at service.nsw.gov.au, or by calling 13 77 88 or at a Service NSW Centre.

Funding for multicultural communities

Organisations providing support to local multicultural communities can now apply for funding to deliver projects and events through the Multicultural NSW Community Support Grants Program.

We have countless outstanding organisations and volunteers working to keep communities connected and supported.

Whether it's organising regular English or computer classes for multicultural seniors, an art or sporting project for young people, or a flagship multicultural festival, this grant program provides a helping hand to organisations that help others.

These grants will break barriers, combat social isolation and ensure every member of our society has access to the same opportunities no matter where they are from or what language they speak.
