NOMINATIONS have opened for the 2021 Coastline Credit Union Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards.
This year it is more important than ever to recognise and celebrate the resilience of local businesses as the region, once again, rebuilds after March's devastating floods which followed on the back of the impacts of COVID and bushfires.
Port Macquarie-Hastings businesses are invited to share their story through the Awards.
The annual celebration of business success was launched at the Sovereign Hills Town Centre on Wednesday, April 21.
The 2021 Business Awards are about celebrating the resilience of local businesses - through COVID, fires, floods - we are still here.Michael Mowle, Port Macquarie Chamber of Commerce president
Port Macquarie Chamber of Commerce president Michael Mowle said this year represents a time to recognise triumph in adversity as Hastings businesses rise above challenges.
"The 2021 Business Awards are about celebrating the resilience of local businesses - through COVID, fires, floods - we are still here," Mr Mowle said.
Now in its 15th year the Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards annually celebrate our region's business success, with a range of independently judged and popularly voted categories, some of which align directly with entry into the Business NSW (formerly NSW Business Chamber) Regional and State Awards.
The 2021 Coastline Credit Union Greater Port Macquarie Business Awards will have 35 categories this year. Winners across four consecutive years or five years, during the lifetime of the Awards, are inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Six businesses were inducted into the Hall of Fame. They are Bennett Steel, Cassegrain Wines, CS Mechanical Repairs and Service, MBC Recruitment, Port Macquarie Performing Arts and Touchwood Flowers.
Entries to this year's awards close on June 15 with voting open on June 21.
Tickets for the gala awards night on July 31 go on sale on June 28.
