Residents and visitors can look forward to workshops, entertainment, stalls and more when The Lost Plot community garden stages an Autumn Fair.
Port Macquarie's community garden, unable to hold its 2020 Spring Fair, is bouncing back with an autumn version of its popular fundraiser.
The Lost Plot community garden president and garden manager Graeme Evans stressed the need to help people understand the importance of soil, plants and being connected with nature.
The community garden's Autumn Fair is a chance to do just that.
The family-friendly event on Saturday, April 17 encourages residents and visitors to come along, explore the beautiful space and learn more about how the community garden works.
There will be stalls with local producers, entertainment, plants for sale and slices of pizza made in the garden's woodfired pizza oven.
Singers from Rose Wilson's choirs will share some joyful and relevant songs.
Workshops will cover topics including native beekeeping and fermenting, while the Food Smart workshop will provide simple steps to avoid food waste.
The Lost Plot's Autumn Fair, with free entry, runs between 10am and 3pm on Saturday, April 17 at the Central Road community garden.
The Autumn Fair is included among the satellite events as part of the Port Macquarie bicentenary program.
Anyone interested in having a market stall at the fair should email info@thelostplot.org.au
