The Hastings Residents Association Inc is supporting residents' calls for action at the congested and dangerous intersection.
Association member, Meg Tubman, organised a 900 signature petition on change.org highlighting concerns about road safety and the increasing congestion at peaks times.
Member for Port Macquarie Leslie Williams agreed to present a community petition to parliament if it reaches the required 500 signatures.
"We are also conducting a paper petition both to present to the state government and council," association president Gregory Franks said.
"It will be conducted door to door in the King Creek community and at various locations in Wauchope including the Department Store, EcoWild, and King Creek Smash Repairs."
The association will hold a stall on March 13 at the Wauchope IGA where anyone supporting the petition from Wauchope or the surrounding areas can sign it in support.
"Problems at this intersection have been apparent for years and despite 20 years of local and state government's promises to fund fixing it, little has been done," Mr Franks said.
"Yet, the King Creek population is over 1500 people and growing, and residents and visitors to Wauchope are subjected to the dangers and delays at this intersection as well.
"While council has made recommendations to the state government to upgrade the road, it is a joint responsibility. The state government is responsible for the Oxley Highway and council for King Creek Road.
"The paper petition calls on both levels of government to work together to upgrade this intersection, either with a roundabout or traffic lights as a matter of urgency."
Two residents will be addressing the April council meeting on the matter.
