Retail customer accounts will now be managed by a Coffs Harbour branch of the banking company and customers can visit Bendigo Bank Agency on Comboyne Street in Kendall from March 26.
A Bendigo Bank spokesman said the decline in demand for in-branch transactions means it is no longer viable to keep the branch open.
"Following an ongoing review of transaction activity and evolving customer banking habits, with an increasing number of customers choosing to complete their day-to-day banking online or over the phone, Bendigo Bank's Port Macquarie branch will close on Friday, March 26," he said.
"To ensure continued support for customers and the community, in line with evolving customer banking behaviour, a Bendigo Bank ATM will remain available in Port Macquarie to provide customers with convenient access to cash 24/7. The exact location of this ATM is currently being determined.
"A Bendigo Bank Mobile Lender will also be based in Port Macquarie and will be available to support customers with any residential and investment lending requirements.
"The Bank is in the process of exploring a suitable office space in Port Macquarie for customers to visit the Mobile Lender. The Mobile Lender can also visit customers at a location at their convenience."
The Bank is in the process of communicating changes to customers of the 2/158 Lake Road branch and would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their support, the spokesman said.
"Business banking customers will continue to be serviced from Coffs Harbour as per the existing arrangement," he said.
"Customers can also conduct their face-to-face banking at any of the more than 3,500 Australia Post outlets nationally using Bank@Post.
"Additionally, customers can transact as normal at any Bendigo Bank branch or ATM, via internet banking, our mobile app or via phone banking on 1300 236 344.
"Staff at the Port Macquarie Branch will be on hand to assist any customers who may not yet have experienced our online or phone banking services."
