Marine Rescue Port Macquarie has organised Hastings Summer Waves at Westport Park after receiving a community grant from Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.
The gated COVID-safe event will include free children's activities, market stalls and ticketed live entertainment.
More than 50 market stalls, including food stalls, will be on offer with free entry between 9am and 2pm.
The crowd can enjoy four hours of live entertainment featuring the Ultimate Bee Gees Tribute Show, Damo and Gerry Comedy Show, and As the Flow Cries Band.
Tickets to the live entertainment, which runs between 10am and 2pm, cost $10 and are available on the Hastings Summer Waves website.
A marine display on the Hastings River will be shown on a big screen at the markets.
Vessels including those from the Mid North Coast Maritime Museum, Flamin' Dragons and Marine Rescue will be on the Hastings River between 10am and 2pm.
Marine Rescue Port Macquarie unit commander Greg Davies urged the community to come together for the celebrations.
"We want the community to have a great day," he said.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council will announce the recipients of the Australia Day Awards during an official ceremony at the Glasshouse, starting at 9.30am on Australia Day.
Eleven citizens and six community groups are nominated across five categories.
The official ceremony will be streamed on YouTube for the greater community.
People can also cool down at Australia Day pool parties at Laurieton and Wauchope pools between 11am and 3pm.
In another activity, Hastings Valley Mountain Bike Club will run a "come and try" mountain bike event at Jolly Nose Mountain Bike Park on Australia Day.
The club was awarded a council grant for the event.
The council also received a grant from the National Australia Day Council to assist in making our region's celebrations COVID-safe and additional funds have been passed onto Marine Rescue Port Macquarie and Hastings Valley Mountain Bike Club to help their COVID-safe costs.
Bookings are essential for all planned events, excluding the marine display and market stalls, as numbers are limited.

Mayor Peta Pinson said: "There really is something for everyone this Australia Day and we're looking forward to a great range of fun activities while still remembering to stay safe.
"So grab your family and mates, book your tickets, reflect, celebrate and be thankful for everything we have in the greatest country in the world," she said.
